The Circle of Life - Kurtakurtali

My name is Jesse Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from Mount Isa in Queensland. This painting is called " Kurtakurtali” in the Kalkadoon language which means “The Circle of Life”.

The circle of life Is the energy given to all living things from the animals to the rivers and streams, from the sun and moon to all human beings. It is the law that we possess inside that teaches us to treat each other and all living things with respect

This energy continues after we have gone and is passed on to another who in turn passes it onto another and so on, the circle of life keeps going and is never broken.
