Product Code: JURB6RB669

This painting is called “Juruati” in the kalkadoon language which means “Message Stick”.

This painting is my interpretation of a Kalkadoon Message Stick.

The message stick has been used for thousands of years in Australia to communicate with different clans and tribes telling them of special events, corroborees and markets. The Juruati is made from wood normally and has a message carved into it. This message stick tells of a Kalkadoon market that will be held at Kajabbi for all neighbouring tribes to attend and exchange or barter for goods.
