Eagle - Karrkanyi

My name is Chern’ee Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from Mount Isa in Queensland. This painting is called “Karrkanyi” which means “eagle” in the Kalkadoon language.

This painting is my interpretation of the eagle and her journey through life. Karrkanyi flies high above Kalkadoon Country watching over her lands and keeping a watchful eye out for her next meal.
