The Eagle - Karrkanyi
My name is Chern’ee Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from the Mount Isa area in Queensland. This painting is my interpretation of “Karrkanyi” which means “The Eagle” in the Kalkadoon language.
This painting is my interpretation of the eagle and her journey through life. Karrkanyi flies from the rainforests to the ocean to the dry harsh outback of Kalkadoon country.
