Asleep all the time - Wamilayan Nyimu
My name is Chern'ee Sutton and I am a contemporary indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people around the Mount Isa area in Queensland.
This painting is called Wamilayan Nyimu in the Kalkadoon language which means Asleep all the time.
The koala is an endangered species that only lives in Australia and needs our protection and understanding, the forests we clear are the koalas only safety and we need to preserve some of these area’s so our children can see what at times we take for granted.
