Corroboree Ground – Macuru

My name is Jesse Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from the Mount Isa area in Queensland.

This painting is called “Macuru” which means “Corroboree Ground” in the Kalkadoon language.

This painting is my interpretation of the many traditional Kalkatungu dance ceremonies that take place on the corroboree grounds.
