Moon Dreaming – Thunthal Ritjinguthinha

My name is Jesse Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from Mt.Isa in Queensland. This painting is called “Tuntal Ritjinguthinha” in the Kalkadoon language which means “Moon Dreaming”.

Thunthal the moon spirit rises every evening releasing moonshine and starting the journey across the night sky. When the moon is full and at its brightest is when sacred ceremonies and dances are performed.
