My name is Chern’ee Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from the Mount Isa area in Queensland. This painting is called “Iran-Iran” in the Kalkadoon language which means “Storm Clouds”.
This painting is my interpretation of the colour, beauty and life of the Storm Clouds.
The vibrant circles represent the storm clouds full of colour and life. The black and grey background represents the dry earth and the dots represent the rain that has splashed colour onto the canvas.
