Sun and Moon Dreaming –

Pintjamu Tuntal Ritjinguthinha

My name is Brooke Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from the Mount Isa area in Queensland. This is my interpretation of “Pintjamu Tuntal Ritjinguthinha” which means in the Kalkadoon language “Sun and Moon Dreaming”.

This artwork, Pintjamu Tuntal Ritjinguthinha (Sun and Moon Dreaming), tells a story of balance, connection and life that flows through all living things.
The sun represents warmth, energy and renewal, bringing life to the land, waters, plants, animals and people. Each new day carries strength and possibility, reminding us of our connection to the natural world.
As evening falls, Tuntal, the Moon, rises quietly, offering calm, reflection and protection through the night. His gentle moonshine guides those who move in darkness and brings peace to the natural world. Together, the sun and moon create harmony between light and shadow, movement and stillness, strength and softness.
