King fisher - Tjampu
My name is Chern’ee Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from the Mount Isa area in Queensland. This painting is called “Tjampu” in the Kalkadoon language which means “Kingfisher”.
Tjampu sits in a branch waiting patiently for her next meal to show itself, she then flies swiftly down in all her glorious colour to catch her prey.
