My name is Jesse Sutton and I am a contemporary Indigenous artist from the Kalkadoon people from the Mount Isa area in Queensland.
This painting is called “Yuan Katja Parru Ritjinguthinha” which means “Big and Little Yellow Snake Dreaming” in the Kalkadoon language and this painting tells the story of how the big and little yellow snakes were turned to gold.
